Blythedale is the only specialty children’s hospital in New York State with the capability of providing the highest level of medical care and rehabilitation for children recovering from complex medical conditions, including childhood cancers.
Why Blythedale…
With pediatricians in the Hospital 24 hours a day, seven days a week, children continue to receive comprehensive medical care to ensure safe transition from the referring physicians.
A customized therapeutic regimen enables patients to regain their strength and function while undergoing or recovering from surgery, chemotherapy and/or radiation therapy. We recognize the vital importance of an ongoing relationship with the child’s referring oncology team, and we participate in regular phone conferences to assess progress.
State-of-the-art medical technology and monitoring equipment combined with rigorous infection control protocols enable us to care for children even while they are receiving chemotherapy. If needed, single rooms are available for children who are immunocompromised.
For immunosuppressed patients, Blythedale offers isolation rooms to allow the rehabilitation process to start sooner.
