Celebration of Blythedale Gala Raises More Than $837,000
The event, the Hospital's largest fundraiser of the year, celebrated the extraordinary contributions of honorees Cynthia Paul and Blythedale Board Chair Scott Levy, and recognized the countless contributions of the Hospital's volunteers.
Proceeds from the event support Blythedale's critically important inpatient services, including the Hospital's Therapeutic and Developmental Support Services program, which comprises Child Life, music therapy and therapeutic recreation. Attendees watched a short film, Healing Beyond Medicine - The Heart of Resilience, which highlights the unique journeys of three patients and how these specialized services play an instrumental role in the healing process. Immediately following the video, a mission moment paddle raise generated more than $354,000 in support of the cause.
"This year's gala was truly special and it was a great honor to recognize Cynthia and Scott for their deep generosity in sharing their time, talents and resources," said Blythedale President & CEO Larry Levine. "To be surrounded by more than 230 friends and supporters, who are all cheering the achievements of our medically fragile infants and children, was quite breathtaking. The love and enthusiasm in the room was palpable and incredibly inspiring."
Attendees also watched a heart-warming video highlighting the various volunteer opportunities available to those looking to get involved. Those interested in pursuing volunteering at Blythedale can learn more here, or reach out to Director of Volunteer Services Jabeen Dinzey.
