Blythedale Celebrates Nurses Week
This year’s theme, designated by the American Nurses Association, highlights the powerful abilities of each nurse to inspire, innovate and influence outcomes for patients, families and the profession.
“I would choose to add a fourth ‘I’ to this year’s theme... imprint,” said Jill Wegener, Blythedale’s Chief Nursing Officer. “Nurses speak of the imprint patients leave on us, however we often overlook the imprint and impact nurses leave on patients and families who are expertly cared for. It’s profound and lifelong.”
Blythedale Nursing leadership organized an array of week-long events for nursing staff, aimed at supporting the mind, body and spirit of the Hospital’s frontline caregivers.
Events ranged from special guest speakers and webinars, to a poster exhibit showcasing the latest nursing practices, appreciation breakfasts, luncheons, dinners, yoga and Zumba classes, and even an ice cream social.
“We’re so pleased and proud to celebrate Nurses Week and recognize the many successes that our nurses and Nursing Department have achieved over the past year,” said Larry Levine, President & CEO of Blythedale Children’s Hospital. “Our reputation of clinical excellence is built upon our extraordinary staff, and we are grateful to this team for their tireless efforts on behalf of our patients and families."
