John Flanagan, MPA, FACHE

John Flanagan, MPA, FACHE, is Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Blythedale Children’s Hospital.  In this capacity, he oversees human resources, all rehabilitation therapies including assistive technology, pharmacy, lab and radiology, engineering and maintenance, environmental services, dietary and food services, and security. He also oversees emergency management, regulatory compliance, and space/construction activities. Mr. Flanagan is also our Chief Compliance Officer.

Mr. Flanagan has over 25 years of operations experience in the healthcare industry.  Prior to Blythedale, he served as Director of Clinical Services at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia and Director of Operations at NewYork-Presbyterian/Westchester Division and Weill Cornell Medical Center.  He has also worked at NYU School of Medicine, Saint Vincent’s Medical Center, and Beth Israel Medical Center.

Mr. Flanagan holds a Masters of Public Administration degree from NYU-Wagner and an undergraduate Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Notre Dame. Mr. Flanagan is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
