Teens
The Hospital
Blythedale opened a new inpatient hospital building in December 2011. The new Hospital has 86 beds on three units: an Infant & Toddler and Post Neonatal/Post-Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, a Pediatric & Adolescent Unit and a Traumatic Brain Injury Unit. There is also a new Activity Room and a Teen Lounge, where you can play and hang out.
On the first floor, near the lobby, there's a Family Resource Center for your parents and family to use. It includes a living room area, kitchen, dining area, playroom, meditation room, library and wireless Internet access.
In addition, there is Therapy Village, a large center for patients’ physical and occupational therapy sessions. The bright and spacious area includes large mats, exercise balls of all sizes, toys and other pieces of therapeutic equipment in a fun setting, with smaller rooms to complete sessions in a more quiet environment. Blythedale also has a pool for physical therapy. Blythedale also has a Robotic Therapy Research Lab, where we are studying how using robots in therapy helps kids regain movement in their arms and wrists.
These are just a few of the interesting features at Blythedale that help you feel better, get stronger and return home sooner.
