Blythedale Children's Hospital is pleased to announce that it has opened an additional classroom within its popular Day Hospital program for young children with specialized medical needs.

Blythedale's specialty outpatient Day Hospital Program is perfect for children who are able to live at home, but still require a level of medical and/or rehabilitative care that cannot be met by their school or community outpatient program.

Children admitted to the half-day program receive daily medical supervision and nursing care, comprehensive rehabilitation services (including physical, occupational, speech and/or feeding therapy), and specialized programming in a classroom setting designed to promote development and socialization.

Programs are individualized to meet each child's unique needs, and snack and lunch are provided. Children as young as 13-months old may be eligible, pending evaluation.

The program is staffed by board-certified pediatricians and pediatric subspecialists, experienced nursing staff, and the largest pediatric therapy department in New York State. Our Day Hospital also features extensive assistive technology services, an adaptive equipment clinic and comprehensive discharge planning services.

Our enhanced Day Hospital referral process enables hospitals, physicians/clinicians, social workers, school personnel, parents and home care agencies to download and complete this simple form. For additional information, please contact Stormie Cahill, RN, at (914) 831-2573 or scahill@blythedale.org.
